The Best Pretty Boys

flower boys – boys who are even prettier than girls. hehe, thats my definition for the name at least.

in asian ent. industry for the past 10 years or so, pretty boys have become increasingly popular. if you think about it, shouldn’t girls like macho guys more, cuz i mean logically speaking, won’t girls get jealous of guys who are even prettier than them, and the sense of security is like totally gone cuz all the girls will be after him. but whatever, we’re only talking idols here, not guys in real life. and these pretty boys have definitely stolen many teenage girls’ hearts.

included is a MNet! (Korean) list of the top 100 flower boys, mostly asian stars, but some are american. i don’t agree with a whole lot of names on the list, but then thats just my personal opinion.

i will especially mention a few who are my favorites. i don’t have a problem with boys who are prettier than girls. but i LOVE them more if their personality is very manly. guys who speak their mind, are direct and blunt, not shy or pretending to be all cute & innocent. the combination of a somewhat feminine appearance but a manly personality, i think, is the KILLER! even i sometimes fall these types, sigh.

Lee Jun Ki

one of the first well known korean idols who really LOOKs like a girl, no question asked. i mean his performance in the 王的男人 (King & The Clown) was like WOW. but he’s actually a very straightforward man in real life, always speaking his mind, may have seemed somewhat arrogant, but true to himself. he’s always a super martial arts man, having black belt in several different disciplines. so HOT!

Kim Hyun Joong

hyun joong could be described as a shy person by most since he has admitted himself that he doesn’t like strangers or elders and likes to be alone. but watching him on We Got Married, he’s definitely a little 4-D (fourth dimensional), living in his own world, but he’s nothing shy at all. he doesn’t pretend or hide himself, always says the most impressive things at the right moments. god, his courage sometimes even scares me. his humor is kind of off-key sometimes, but makes him all the more adorable. his performance in Boys Before Flowers though, i think, is the best in terms of the portrayal of an autistic boy. Vic Zhou (taiwanese version) and Shun Oguri (japanese version) are equally cute & sexy, but his is the best of the original character.

Kim Heechul

probably the best known member of Super Junior, also the most blunt of them all. he can seem to be really full of himself sometimes, and thus got the nickname princess, as for the “princess illness.” but that is who he is, adding some charm to his already super hilarious personality. as he has said himself on ysmm, what he has gained with all this is a fantasy world, and what he has lost is touch with reality. LOL. how can you not love him?!
